Simex TF double-drum cutter heads are well-known for their versatility in many different applications. Last January our French dealer IMH sold a TF 850 to Jean Roger, an earthmoving company based in Bédarieux, France. The Simex drum cutter was used to create trenches for a sewerage installation in Celles, Occitania (FR). The attachment has been mounted on an excavator Cat 321D.
The village of Celles is characterized by the presence of many old houses built in the early 1900s. For this reason, the use of the hydraulic hammer was not authorized, since the area surrounding the construction site could potentially collapse.
The site’s geography thus required a high excavation performance attachment with low vibrations features. The soil was composed of shist, a metamorphic rock with well-developed foliation. Simex TF 850 has successfully got the job done satisfying the client’s expectations, with productivity around 10 linear meters (33 feet) per hour at a working depth of 80-100 cm (31-39 inches).
